After the 7 Day Body I am now able to stand in an organized posture with less effort and move my body without pain. I have a new awareness of how I previously held my body in an effort to protect it. The 7 Day Body gave me the tools to maintain my posture and live without pain through body awareness lessons, movement and specific mobility tools. On a deep level, we all want to live as fully as we can. And yet many of us crave a deeper connection to our bodies and sensory experiences. The sessions listed below offer you a wonderful opportunity to do just that: you will optimize your body’s alignment, movement intelligence, and awareness. You will receive a profoundly healing and unique form of bodywork called Structural Medicine, as well as movement and play exercises, and body-consciousness education. Your day will include a one-on-one, customized Structural Medicine bodywork session and a small group movement and body-consciousness class—all while still having ample time to experience the fantastic spa amenities at Rayavadee.

3 DAYS: STRUCTURAL FOUNDATION SERIES

The Structural Foundation Series will transform your sense of yourself and your bodily awareness, giving you newfound freedom, integration, and connection to yourself and your life that you may have never experienced before. After an evaluation of your whole body’s structure and a thorough health history, we will together address your structural imbalances through hands-on bodywork. We will balance the superficial and deep connective tissue layers that are responsible for long-held structural imbalances; this will restore your body’s natural alignment and re-educate your body with more efficient and easeful movement patterns.

If you’re looking to create profound and lasting changes, and/or have persistent problems with pain and limited function, three days gives us enough time to get you moving and functioning at a higher level. The Body Consciousness classes will focus on enhancing your body’s organization and awareness, giving you a better sense of internal support. You will leave this series feeling integrated and energized, with a new sense of structural alignment that creates a more dynamic, resilient, and vital self.

2 DAYS: BODY REBOOT

The two-day series will restore the structural foundation within your body to give you more freedom, awareness, and suppleness. We’ll address the root cause of your current painful areas and movement challenges. After an evaluation of your body’s structure and a thorough health history, I’ll provide hands-on treatment to reduce your pain and improve your range of motion. The Body Intelligence classes will focus on enhancing your body’s organization and awareness, giving you a better sense of internal support and a greater you understanding of your body in daily motion.

Customized Structural Medicine: 

Structural Medicine bodywork is a powerful, whole-body therapy. Distinct from traditional massage, Structural Medicine dramatically transforms both the way you feel and how you move in your body. It aims to restore optimal alignment and function, while creating integrated connection through the entire body. It bridges mainstream medicine’s well-established and proven evaluation tools (strength, range-of-motion, postural assessment) with the latest scientific developments in alternative treatment therapies (myofascial release, movement and neuromuscular re-education, and client-practitioner dialogue). In the bodywork sessions, we work one-on-one and dive deep into your specific needs and desires. We will complete a thorough assessment of your structure, functional movement capacity, and coordination to identify the key areas we will address. The hands-on work will aim to dissolve fascial adhesions, better align joints, lengthen and open your body’s compressed and rigid areas, and create a more fluid, elastic and joyful self.

 Body Consciousness Training: 

The Body Consciousness training is an immersive exploration of what it means to be fully human. We’ll explore how do develop mindful presence; we’ll use motion and play to create an attuned emotional awareness; we’ll develop greater connection to ourselves and how we move—all of which will deepen our engagement with life and our natural creativity. This training functions as a kind of operator's manual for living well, teaching you how to move more effectively through life with less effort and better organization by working with gravity rather than against it. Cultivating a clear, sensory experience through slow, gentle movement, you will develop deeper levels of body awareness—the first step in changing one’s restrictive patterns and behaviors.

Through observing and correcting habitual movement patterns and compensations that are inefficient and require excessive force, this work will establish new neural pathways that refine your kinesthetic awareness, balance, and responsiveness. You’ll discover key movement concepts such as leverage and counterbalance, and learn how they can be applied to create dynamic, graceful movement. By systematically developing your skeletal organization, you will feel more balanced and confident to deal with the ever-changing world around you. Why the 7 Day Body?

Are you no longer able to hike as far, move as fast, or play as long as you want with your children or grandchildren? Over time, our habits both physical and emotional begin to solidify and compress our body’s shape which limits our full human potential. Our body becomes unorganized, good posture is equated with effort and we begin to work harder to keep ourselves upright in gravity. This is a common human condition that strikes many of us as we age. However, most of us have never been given the operator’s manual to our body. The 7 Day Body cultivates a profoundly different level of understanding and refinement of our highly complex human system. It aims to give you your highest level of structural organization so life begins to feel easy and joyful, movement is fluid and you have more options available in your life.

What is the 7 Day Body?

The 7 Day Body is a week-long process involving Structural Medicine bodywork, movement and body consciousness education to get you feeling more free, present and joyful in your body. It is divided up into your customized Structural Medicine sessions and small group movement and body consciousness education.

 

Customized Structural Medicine: Structural Medicine bodywork uses myofascial release, postural analysis, and movement re-education to restore proper alignment and function to a client’s body, relieving injuries, chronic pain, and movement dysfunctions. Through balancing and aligning the body’s soft tissues, Structural Medicine sessions move you closer to more efficient organization and improved function. It uses an integrative process to develop a new sense of awareness allowing you to re-shape posture, movement patterns, and your sense of self. This often results in a reduction in pain and improved function in your activities.

 

Movement and Body Consciousness Training: The movement education gives you the operator's manual to move more effectively through life with less effort and better organization by working with gravity versus against it. Learn to recognize less efficient patterns of movement and develop more body awareness to create new movement potential that will leave you with more energy and less wear on your body. The body consciousness education identifies how your habits, thoughts and outlook can contribute greatly to how you experience your body. By creating more empowering thoughts you can be more successful in your life!

In order to achieve the best results from The 7 Day Body we recommend doing this in an off-site setting where you are removed from your daily life stresses and obligations. We purposely limit the size of the group so that we can focus our attention on a smaller number of individuals while creating an intimate setting for body consciousness. This is a powerful and unique offering combining the best of Structural Medicine bodywork, movement and body consciousness training in an intensive format to give you the opportunity for both quick results and the tools to create a lasting change.

The Process:

This is a customized week long intensive that includes:

Day 4: Rest day to reflect and explore what you've learned to date
